Sainsbury’s Sales Fall As Home Retail Group Argos Improves

 

Sainsbury's has blamed “very competitive” trading conditions, and warned of continuing uncertainty because of the weak pound – as it revealed falling supermarket sales.

But sales at Argos – which Sainsbury's bought last year as part of its £1.4bn purchase of Home Retail Group – have improved.

Ian King spoke to I went to see John Rogers, Sainsbury's former finance director who became Argos chief executive following the acquisition in September.
