Tech and Aviation Giants Support Trump’s Inauguration Fund

Aviation leader Boeing and tech giant Google have each pledged $1 million (£812,600) to fund the upcoming inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump. The donations place the companies among a growing list of prominent American firms supporting the event, scheduled for 20 January, marking the start of Trump’s second term.

Boeing confirmed its contribution, stating it continues its “bipartisan tradition” of supporting US Presidential Inaugural Committees, having made similar donations for the past three inaugurations. Google also announced its donation, revealing plans to livestream the event globally via YouTube and provide a direct link on its homepage.

The list of contributors extends to other major corporations, including oil producer Chevron and tech giants Meta, Amazon, and Uber. Car manufacturers Ford, General Motors, and Toyota have also contributed $1 million each.

Chevron, while confirming its participation, refrained from disclosing the exact amount. Bill Turene, the company’s manager of global media relations, stated, “Chevron has a long tradition of celebrating democracy by supporting the inaugural committees of both parties.”

Boeing, which is recovering from a challenging period of safety and quality control issues as well as losses from a recent strike, is also constructing the next-generation presidential aircraft, known as Air Force One. These jets are anticipated to be operational as early as next year. During his first term, Trump renegotiated Boeing's contract for Air Force One, labelling the original deal as overpriced.

Google’s support adds to the contributions by tech firms Meta and Amazon, reflecting their ongoing involvement in high-profile national events. Karan Bhatia, Google’s global head of government affairs, noted, “Google is pleased to support the 2025 inauguration with a livestream on YouTube and a direct link on our homepage.”
